Overview

For our university project, we developed "Kaz Who," a digital adaptation of the classic board game Guess Who. Over a span of 3-4 weeks, our team of 5 students collaborated to bring this project to life using the Unity game engine. This project marked one of my earliest experiences working on a group project, and it was both educational and enjoyable to collaborate with fellow students.

Core features

As a member of the team, I primarily assumed the role of a programmer, contributing to various aspects of the game's development. My key contributions included:

Localization System

Recognizing the importance of accessibility, I implemented a simple localization system. This allowed us to offer the game in multiple languages, including English, Swedish, and Spanish. Leveraging my fluency in Spanish, I ensured that the translations were accurate and culturally appropriate.

Settings Menu

I designed and programmed the settings menu, providing players with customizable options to adjust different volume channels. This feature allowed players to fine-tune the volume of various game elements, such as effects, music, or both simultaneously, enhancing their overall gaming experience.

AI Interaction

One of the core functionalities of the game was the interaction with an AI opponent. I programmed the system that enabled players to ask the AI questions about specific characteristics of the hidden character card. This included inquiries about body parts or hats, facilitating the process of deduction and elimination.

Advanced Queries

To enhance gameplay depth, I implemented advanced querying capabilities, allowing players to inquire about specific body parts based on their color. This feature added an additional layer of strategy and complexity to the game, challenging players to think critically and strategically.

Team Collaboration and Support

Participating in the development of "Kaz Who" was a rewarding experience that not only honed my programming skills but also fostered teamwork and collaboration. Working alongside my peers, I learned the importance of effective communication, time management, and leveraging individual strengths to achieve collective success. Through our collective efforts, we successfully delivered a polished and engaging game that provided hours of entertainment to players of all ages.
